Everything went very fast with the kitchen. It was so exciting! The wall was knocked down and cords were hanging everywhere. The kitchen and dining rom were all off limits.
We had a lot of dinners here at this table.
We also decided to rip up our old floors in the process of doing the kitchen and we put in beautiful wood floors. We were shocked to see the layers of UGLY flooring underneath.
The day the cabinets arrived was so exciting for everyone!!
WHOAH that is nasty!
More random flooring!
Our neighbors began to get used to seeing all the junk in our front yard.
The wood floors went in so fast and it was SO INCREDIBLY loud. I am still finding dust from the mess of installing the floors but it was 100% worth it.
After the kids would go to bed at night, Nate and I would sneak in here and just stand. We couldn't imagine what it would be like to have a new open kitchen! So thankful.
New wood floors throughout the hallway and foyer
The kids ready for school sitting on the new pantry.
The day our floors go refinished, we had to be upstairs for about 24 hours. There was snow on the ground outside and we were house bound. We made dinner in the crockpot in our bedroom and ate upstairs. What a memory. I never have enough food for my family.
Beautiful cabinets in our sunroom waiting!
In the midst of the kitchen reno, we discovered that our circuit breaker box was in horrible and unsafe condition. It had to be replaced. This was an unexpected blessing because we are in a much safer state now. We were not anticipating the cost but thankful that it was done well.
While we waited for the new box, we were without electricity (in February!) in half of our house. After 2 weeks of this, we were so thankful for lights!
Cabinets in and stools arrived. That is the chandelier sitting on our island.
This chandelier was the most intricately packaged thing I had ever seen. It took me two hours to just unwrap it. We love to look at it but it is hard when the kids run through the house because it sounds like a windchime.
Backsplash went up in one Saturday... it was sooo exciting as this was the last step!
