November 2013

November was very very full.  With so little time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, we were busy!

Spending time raking our neighbors leaves.  We don't have any large trees on our property so we help him rake.

After Daylight Savings, Ellen and Sam woke up very early on a consistent basis.

Girls!

Our good friend Emily was in the State Field Hockey Tournament.  We went and watched her play and WIN!

Smashing pumpkins with our neighbor

After a successful grocery shopping experience, we like to play trains!

One day after Sam got out of school for early Wednesday, I took him to the mall to see Santa.  He was so excited and happy.
Sam told me that he looked closely at Santa.  If he looks different next time he sees him, "he is busted."

We had a playdate with friends from our babysitting co-op.
And lastly, I got away for 2 days to spend some time with my roommates from college in Philadelphia!

Thanksgiving

The Verwys family came out for Thanksgiving.  Our neighbors let me use the oven for Turkey #1.  We had to walk over there at 6 am and put that turkey in!  We were cat sitting for them.

Lots of time spent reading books with Grandpa and Uncle Marvin.

Clara and Moses enjoyed playing together.

And a lot of cooking and eating at the table!
It was a great visit, a full house and fun memories.

October 2013

October was full of time off for Nate because of the furlough and wonderful mild weather.
Our trampoline continues to be one of our best toys ever!

Sam enjoying cotton candy at his school fall festival.
This is what furlough looked like for Nate.
 Picking out a pumpkin.
Pony rides at our dentist's fall party.
Making and eating caramel apples with mommy!

MOPS convention 2013

In October, I was able to go to Kansas City to the MOPS convention.  It was a great time!  I got to know the other moms that I went with and heard some great speakers.  Here are some of my friends.

I was able to have some time to myself in the morning - which rarely happens these days and I met a bunch of characters like the strange one below.

Great barbeque restaurant!

Nate did great while I was gone but there was a lot of laundry.

Fall Sports...

We had a very busy season with Fall Sports.  Rita played soccer, Grace played volleyball (she is in the pink knee pads) and Sam played tee ball.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell (Vol 39)

"Excuse me ma'am"
Me:  Yes?
"Your baby has a sucker in her hair"
Me:  Yes, I know.  I am waiting until I get home to get it out.

September 2013

Kids back at school and I am home with Clara and Ellen during the days.
They love to play in our front yard any chance we get.

 Typical scene in my kitchen
On her new Chatterbox phone with her NEW outfit from Mrs. Hall!
In September, my college roommate came to town overnight.  I loved getting to see her for a bit.  Christy and I have some great, great memories and history together.  She is such a caring, interested and fun friend.

Skins V Lions!

We have some new neighbors (with children!!) that are great.  I am so thankful for them in our neighborhood.  They are super thoughtful and generous and they asked Nate to come to a Redskins game with Matt!  It wasn't just a Skins game, it was a Skins versus Lions game!!  They are from Michigan like Nate so they all routed for the Lions.  Nate took a lot of photos of everything that their suite had from food to the amazing view!

Food everywhere!

Great seats!

If you read my blog and you are local, you will probably crack up at this like I did.  Nate took a photo of the Merrifield Garden Center suite.  That is hilarious that they have a suite in the stadium!

Redskins plates (I really, really appreciated these photos and details!)
