Funeral Weekend

We had six of our friends from college fly in to celebrate the life of a wonderful woman. So the only photo I have of all of us comes from my friend Pam's blog. Allison is the second from the right. It was her mom that passed away on Weds. We took this photo at Steak and Shake at MIDNIGHT after the funeral:

"Kelly from Phoenix, Erin & Andrea from DC, and Christy from Liberty Township"
that was what we told people all weekend.

"Andrea from DC, Pam from Dayton, Christy from L.T., Jenn from Philly"

In addition to supporting a dear friend, I learned so much about Allison's mom.
I have never taken notes at a funeral and this was a funeral that I took notes.

Allison's mom had cancer for 21 years of her 62 year life and yet the last 1/3 of her life, she grew closer to God than ever. In her casket was her Bible with her most recent Bible Study from Isaiah - with many handwritten scribbles. That was very powerful.
At the funeral, a theme that was repeated was, "she was okay in the hands of her Savior." Her faith and hope were real and that helped her have victory over all her problems. The funeral was truly a celebration! She also invested her time with lifelong friends, invested her money in traveling on memorable vacations with her family and was a "hostess-with-the-mostess."

weep and rejoice

As one of my best friends said best... I will be weeping in Ohio this weekend with my sweet sister to celebrate her mom's life.
After 21 years of battling cancer, my precious friend Allison's mama passed away last week. Will be back in action on Tues.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell (Volume 21)

National Pancake Day...

Thanks Lindsay for the reminder. We went to IHOP for pancake day. We went with our neighbors (former neighbors but always neighbors at heart... hi Beth!) We had a total of about 36 pancakes at our table. We took the leftovers home and have been eating them for days. It was chaos but good chaos.

My little mommy helpers... priceless. Leah has been a baby lover since she was 4 years old and would help me with GRACE!
Pancakes that warm Nate's heart.

Sparksarama - Funarama

My kids are part of this club through our church called Awana. This past weekend was an area event where all these different clubs participated. Our church has a really small club so we didn't have a full team and had to recruit from other churches... it was pretty funny. Here are some photos for my Barcroft peeps:
