Big Birthday Week!

My in-laws are coming in a few days for my birthday and America's birthday! We are very excited as we get ready around our house and plan for our annual Fourth backyard cookout and their visit.

On Wednesday, I am also celebrating the birth of a new Chick fil a in our town. We are thrilled to death that there is a chick fil a within walking distance of my parents and within 3 miles of our house! So two of my dear friends have agreed to camp out with me overnight and try to be the first in the doors when they open on my 30th birthday on the 2nd.

Our plan is to arrive at 6 AM on Wednesday morning with our necessary supplies - tents, water, cell phone, laptop, projects and sleeping pills. If there are over 100 people in line, apparently they do a raffle to pick the first 100. It is supposed to be a blast with catering, DJs, games, the cow, contests, etc.

So I will keep you posted on the progress if we have WiFi access and join me if you would like. Did I say that you win a years worth of chick fil a too?

a park a week

One of the things we were trying to do this summer is visit a local park a week - even if they are parks with just a pond or stream and woods. Today we visited a local park called the "Tot Lot." It was hilarious how excited my kids were initially to run up to the new park. But then, they wanted to leave because it was a pretty small playground. A friend called while I was there and asked me, "Why are you at THAT park?"
I had my best friend Jen visiting earlier this week to help me collect myself and help with the kids. We had fun going to the pool, the gym, shopping and hiking. Here is a few photos from our hike.

...heartbeat and hiccups...

Yesterday I had an appt with my doctor and everything looks great! We am so thankful as I had some complications in the beginning of the pregnancy. This is the third time I have seen the baby via ultrasound and he/she was going bananas hiccuping. I am thinking and praying for some dear friends who have had much harder news during these times. Nesting BABY!

I would like to give a shout out to the card designer "Cracked Designs" from Minneapolis. Check out their blog. YES, that is our family! We sent out these cards last week to family and close friends to announce our good news. Baby number four will be joining our family this holiday season! We are overwhelmed but grateful for God's blessings. How could we not?
